Contraband (aka The Smuggler)

Again an ignored film from Fulci compared with his horror films, but this is a film with some entertaining scenes that should be checked out. technically decent made with an ok budget, it tells actually a simple story about a cigarette smugler who wants to take revenge on the mafia who has killed his brother. while the first half of the film is nothing extraordinary the second half to the end offers some entertaining stuff like a quite messy shooting where also Fulci is involved(!!) The film is quite violent and shows what "wild beasts" men can be, when they rape a woman (from behind, with order of the boss!) or a scene where one of the mafiosi burns the face of a woman who wants to much money. yes, this is a real "men movie" , where the women either don´t survive or dont get out that healthy..  A nice piece of exploitation what fulci here offers, i like it.
