Questo concept album è completamente dedicato alla rivisitazione del famoso serial omonimo tratto dal romanzo di Giuseppe D’Agata (che ne ha anche scritto le sceneggiature) e trasmesso dalla Rai nel 1971.

Il motivo per cui si è scelta quest’opera come fonte di ispirazione (e come nome del gruppo) sta nella volontà di recuperare i canoni estetici di una "pagina" molto particolare della storia della televisione e della cultura italiana che è, per l’appunto, quella relativa alla prima metà degli anni settanta.

In questo periodo, infatti, sono stati prodotti tutti i maggiori sceneggiati del mistero di cui il SDC è "l’apripista".

Tale epoca ha anche visto l’avvio di una grande produzione in ambito cinematografico (che ha portato all’uscita dei grandi capolavori dell’horror di registi come Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Pupi Avati), e musicale (con gruppi come Goblin e Jacula e compositori come Giorgio Gaslini, Ennio Moricone, etc, che con le loro musiche inquietanti hanno rappresentato la degna colonna sonora dell’epoca).

Da sempre cultori di quegli aspetti "sommersi" dell’esistenza umana che ci hanno fatto incontrare e legare fortemente tra noi, abbiamo voluto tornare alle radici eseguendo un’accurata ricerca stilistica in quelle immagini che ci avevano così terrorizzato da bambini.

Ogni brano del disco ripercorre una parte della storia del romanzo.

A tale opera dedicata al cinema horror, il SDC ha partecipato con un brano strumentale (composto da Banchero/Grixoni) dedicato allo sceneggiato ‘Ho incontrato un’ombra’.

Il disco è stato accompagnato da un libro a cui hanno partecipato H.R. Giger (con la grafica di copertina), la figlia di Lucio Fulci, Luigi Cozzi, e Dario Argento.

Tra gli altri artisti spiccano nomi del calibro di Claudio Simonetti, Death SS, Malombra, Al Festa...

In questo secondo album la nostra ricerca musicale si spinge sulle tradizioni esoteriche mitteleuropee scegliendo di rivisitare la maggiore (e omonima) opera letteraria di Gustav Meyrink (considerata uno dei romanzi esoterici per eccellenza ove l’autore ha racchiuso i concetti decisivi del suo personale percorso iniziatico).

This concept album is completely dedicated to the famous homonymous serial taken from the novel by Giuseppe D’Agata (who has also written the scripts) and broadcasted by RAI in 1971.

The reason why we chose this work as source of inspiration ( and as name of our group) depends on the will to recover the aesthetic rules of a very particular page of the Italian TV and culture which is, indeed, the one concerning the first half of the 70s.

In this period, indeed, have been broadcasted the greatest mistery screenplays of which "Il segno del comando" is the forerunner.

That epoch has also seen the start of a great production in the cinematographic sphere ( which has brought to the coming out of the great masterpieces of horror of directors as Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Pupi Avati) and in the musical one ( with groups as Goblin and Jacula and composers as Giorgio Gaslini, Ennio Morricone, etc..., who have represented with their disquieting music, the worthy soundtrack of the epoch).

Since always devotees of those submerged aspects of the human existence, which made us meet and strongly tie to each other of us, we wanted to come back to the roots by making an accurate stylistic research in those images which have terrified us so much when children. Each track of the CD runs over again a part of the novel story.

In this work dedicated to the horror cinema, "Il Segno del Comando" tooks part with an instrumental track ( composed by Banchero and Grixoni) dedicated to the screenplay "Ho incontrato un’ombra".

The CD has been coupled with a book in which took part H. R. Giger ( with the cover drawing), Lucio Fulci’s daughter, Luigi Cozzi and Dario Argento.

Among the other artists stand out names of the handing of Claudio Simonetti, Death SS, Malombra, Al Festa...

In this second album our musical research pushes itself on the mitteleuropean exotheric traditions by choosing to revisit Gustav Meyrink greatest ( and homonymous) work ( considered one of the exotheric novel "par excellence" where the author has held the decisive ideas of his personal initiation way).
